Australia Marine Services Pty Ltd – ‘A.M.S. Tugs and Barges’ is glad to announce their successful delivery of two brand new barges, A.M.S. 1802 -180ft Deck Cargo Ballastable Tank Barge and A.M.S. Henderson – 250ft Deck Cargo Ballastable Tank Barge to Dampier WA on the 29th June 2011.

The towage of A.M.S. 1802 and A.M.S. Henderson was a success with the barges delivered in excellent condition arriving into Dampier on schedule. Currently both barges are moored at West Lewis mooring facilities in Dampier before shortly departing to their intended project locations to commence their work.

All required surveys by the Department of Transport (DOT), Western Australia Custom Inspection and the Asbestos Survey have been conducted for the A.M.S. 1802 and A.M.S. Henderson and both barges have passed all required surveys. The barges have also been inspected thoroughly by the AMS team and have reported the barge to be in excellent condition with no further issues outstanding.Both A.M.S. 1802 and A.M.S Henderson were delivered with their ramp door attached to the deck by fixed welding. This is meant to provide AMS’s clients the flexibility of either removing or installing the ramp door on the barges as well as precaution to avoid any damages to the ramp doors and barges during towage.

AMS has secured a long term charter contract for both A.M.S. 1802 & A.M.S. Orion to work in the Gladstone LNG Project, and A.M.S. 1201 currently under tow to Sydney NSW for another long term contract in a significant project by major international construction company, thus further expanding AMS exposures in the Eastern Coastline with various projects in hand.

AMS is also in final stage of finalising another charter contract for A.M.S. Henderson, with client’s intention to use her for transport of heavy equipment for mining companies, the intended timeline for this project is forecast to spread over 2-3 years. AMS has once again proved that the company is able to meet the Australasian market demand for vessels such as A.M.S. Orion, A.M.S. 1802 and A.M.S. Henderson. AMS will strive to continue its strategies by supplying the Australasian market with more quality vessels.
As a sign of company commitments, AMS has already secured another unit of 16m 1200bhp DAMEN Stan Tug- sister vessel of A.M.S. Orion, due to join the fleet early 4th Quarter 2011, and also new construction of Ballastable tank barges ranging from 180ft to 300ft, due to join the AMS fleet from August 2011 – Mid 2012. 2 units of Shallow-draft workboats – A.M.S. SHINE & A.M.S. SWISSCO are still on schedule to be completed and ready for service by 1st quarter 2012. Currently there is a total of 8 vessels on order by AMS.
