To maintain as a leading supplier of marine vessels, Australia Marine Services (A.M.S. Tugs & Barges) is proud to announce that the construction of 2 Units x 28M Shallow-draft workboats are progressing as planned.
Alan Yeo, managing director of A.M.S. Tugs & Barges stated, “Construction of these ‘work horses’ commenced in October 2011, and with 12 months of careful planning, are progressing well and we are looking forward to bring them into Australia to meet the ever-demanding local market.” Aptly named “A.M.S. SHINE” and “A.M.S. SWISSCO”, the shallow-draft workboats have been designed to assist with various operations; including but not limited to; Dredging supports, Coastal Constructions, barge supports, and towage operations.
The construction progress has been verified with a recent visit at the shipyard, carried out with AMS Ship construction team and an Independent Australian surveyor to ensure the vessels are being built to Australian standards and local regulations.

Equipped with quality fit out and high spec machinery, “A.M.S. SHINE” and “A.M.S. SWISSCO” will be equipped with CATERPILLAR USA Engines and Generator Sets; high spec’d FASSI FX1100AXP.24 knuckle-boom crane (lifting 8T@11m) and quality navigational equipment.

As of the end of 2011, A.M.S. Tugs & Barges is on track with the management’s projected business strategy, to expand the AMS Fleet with a minimum of eight new vessels for the year of 2012.
