Successful launch of A.M.S. SHINE and A.M.S. SWISSCO

Following the introduction of the two newly built Deck Cargo and Ballast Tank Barges - A.M.S. GLADSTONE and A.M.S. 1803 recently, Australia Marine Services (A.M.S. Tugs & Barges) is pleased to announce the successful launching of its two new builds, 28m Shallow Draft Workboats - aptly named “A.M.S. SHINE” and “A.M.S. SWISSCO”.

A.M.S. SHINE – 28m 1500bhp Shallow Draft Workboat and A.M.S. SWISSCO – 28m 1440bhp Shallow Draft Workboat are designed to assist with various operations; including but not limited to; dredging supports, coastal construction, barge supports, and towage operations. Both workboats have been built on speculation to meet the rising demands for this type of vessel from the Australian market. Built and designed to meet the Australian standards, the workboats are equipped with the best machinery available in the market and are suitable for projects where operations in shallow waters are required. A notable inclusion to the workboats is a second crane at the aft portside, making them suitable for projects requiring a second crane for operations.

Equipped with quality fit out and high spec machinery, A.M.S. SHINE and A.M.S. SWISSCO are equipped with Caterpillar C32 Acert DITA 750bhp @ 1800 RPM and Caterpillar 3412C TA 720bhp @ 1800 RPM engines respectively. Additionally, they are also equipped with Caterpillar Generator Sets, high spec’d FASSI FX1100AXP.24 Knuckle-Boom Crane (lifting 25T@3.5m), 30 TON SWL Towing Hook with mechanical emergency release,  ME 25 Ton Single drum (towing) winch with 3 control points, Class approved Anchor Handling A-Frame, Bow and Stern Rollers, and quality navigational equipment.

These two high spec’d Shallow Draft Workboats will be based within Australian waters and expected to be delivered end 3^rdQ / Early 4^thQ 2012.
