Australia Marine Service (A.M.S. Tugs & Barges) is pleased to announce the successful launching of their brand new barges; A.M.S. PERTH – a 250ft x 80ft x 16ft Deck Cargo Ballast Tank Barge and A.M.S. DARWIN – a 230ft x 80f x 16ft Deck Cargo Ballast Tank Barge.
With the significant increase in demand for 230ft and 250ft barges in the Australasian market, A.M.S. Tugs & Barges has scheduled to deliver these two highly spec’d performance barges into the North West Shelf to support higher level of operational requirement in the oil and gas, mining and construction projects in the region.
A.M.S. PERTH and A.M.S. DARWIN represent A.M.S. Tugs & Barges’ commitment to continuously improve their barge fleet that it has on offer to the Australasian market. These two new barges have deck loading of 25T/m² and 20T/m² respectively and are capable of approx. 5000 – 5500T Cargo Deadweight tonnage. Both A.M.S. PERTH and A.M.S. DARWIN are equipped with 4–point mooring systems, a newly designed (Australian certified) road transportable RO-RO ramp, four (4) SMIT Type (SWL 80 Ton )Towing Brackets fitted at bow and stern, and etc. Both barges can be offered with the option to have external spud keepers integrated onto the side plates of the barges.
With the completion of the Classification Surveys with ABS (American Bureau of Shipping), A.M.S. PERTH and A.M.S. DARWIN are expected to be delivered into Australian water in April 2013.
