Australia Marine Services Pty Ltd- (A.M.S. Tugs & Barges) as made a firm decision to mobilise the barge to Australian water as an act of the company’s commitment to provide the best service possible to their clients in the Australian market.
A.M.S. 1201 launched earlier this year (8th March 2011), is designed and build to Australian standard with A.M.S. Melbourne; her successful sister vessel as blueprint for her built.
A.M.S. 1201 is built based on the experiences and feedback received from clients of A.M.S. Melbourne; and therefore has additional equipment on deck such as Ramp Door, stanchions and handrail installed while maintaining its capabilities of cargo deadweight; 1300 tonnes and deckloading ; 15 t/m2 . The improvised design and capabilities incorporated into the construction of A.M.S. 1201 allows for greater versatility in providing assistance for heavy equipment transport, RORO operations as well as acting as a crane barge with her proven capability as with A.M.S. Melbourne.
